Quick answer

What is cloud & DevOps and who is it for?

Cloud and DevOps services decide where your software runs and how each change reaches production safely. Next Orbit designs and operates environments on AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud, packages applications in containers and automates testing and deployment through CI/CD pipelines. We support organisations in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, the entire UAE, the GCC and globally that are launching a new system, leaving on-premise servers or fixing slow, error-prone releases.

Every engagement is architecture-led, delivered by an innovative, R&D-backed team of security-first engineers and quality-controlled before each release, for clients across Sharjah, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the entire UAE, the GCC and globally.

Pipeline console

Every change takes the same safe road to production

This is what our delivery pipeline looks like for a platform we operate: a commit is built, tested, scanned and rolled out without downtime, then watched. Press run to follow one change through.

  • CIBuild and test on every push. Broken changes never reach a shared environment.
  • CDRolling or blue-green releases. Users do not notice a deployment, and rollback is one command.
  • OpsObservability built in. Dashboards and alerts are part of the delivery, not an afterthought.

  • Your cloud, your account

AWS, Azure or in-country hosting, provisioned in a tenancy you control, with cost dashboards from day one.

  • Everything as code

Infrastructure, pipelines and configuration are versioned. Environments are reproducible, not hand-built.

  • Tested before deployed

Unit, integration and security gates run on every change. Nothing reaches production untested.

  • Watched after launch

Metrics, logs, traces and alerts routed to people who can act, with backups that are restored, not just taken.

What do cloud and DevOps services include?

  1. Cloud work covers the infrastructure behind your software: servers or serverless functions, managed databases, storage, networks and security controls.

    Read moreShow less

DevOps is the practice of automating everything between a developer finishing a change and that change running safely for users.

  2. Together they answer everyday questions.

    Read moreShow less

Can we release without downtime? How do we know the system is healthy? What happens if the database fails at 2 a.m.? Can we add capacity before Ramadan or year-end peaks? We design those answers in from the start, because adding them later is slower and riskier. Next Orbit runs e-trainia and the platforms it hosts for clients on the same practices, so the pipelines and runbooks we hand over are ones we depend on ourselves.

  • Cloud architecture and account structure
  • Containers and orchestration
  • CI/CD pipeline design and setup
  • Separate development, staging and production
  • Logging, metrics and alerting
  • Cost reviews and right-sizing

AWS, Azure or Google Cloud: which suits a UAE business?

  1. No provider is right for everyone.

    Read moreShow less

The choice depends on where your data must stay, what your organisation already licenses, which managed services the application needs and what your team can operate. Organisations built on Microsoft 365 and Entra ID often find Azure the natural fit. Product teams wanting a wide catalogue of managed services frequently choose AWS. Analytics-heavy and machine-learning workloads are a common reason to pick Google Cloud.

  2. For regulated sectors and government-related work, data residency and the rules specific to your organisation come first.

They may point to a UAE cloud region, a sovereign provider or on-premise hosting. We assess this during solution architecture, write down the reasoning, and keep applications containerised so the decision is never a permanent lock-in.

How is an existing system moved to the cloud?

  1. Migration starts with an inventory of applications, databases, integrations, scheduled jobs, users and dependencies.

    Read moreShow less

Each item is marked to move as it is, adjust, rebuild or retire. Moving everything unchanged is rarely the best result, and neither is rewriting systems that already work.

  2. We then build the target environment, rehearse the migration on a copy of the data and agree a cut-over plan with a rollback route.

After go-live, the old and new environments are compared, monitoring is tuned and running costs are checked against the estimate.

How we work

How we deliver cloud & DevOps

5 stages, each with a deliverable you can review and sign off before the next begins.

Revision A · stage 1 of 5

Assess

Workloads, residency needs, availability targets and the current release routine are reviewed.

Revision B · stage 2 of 5

Design

Target architecture, environments, security controls and a cost estimate are documented and agreed.

Revision C · stage 3 of 5

Automate

Infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines are built and proven in a non-production environment.

Revision D · stage 4 of 5

Launch

A rehearsed deployment or migration runs with agreed checks and a rollback path.

Revision E · stage 5 of 5

Operate

Monitoring, patching, backup tests and cost reviews continue under a support agreement.

Questions, answered

Cloud & DevOps in the UAE: frequently asked questions

01 Can our system be hosted inside the UAE?

Yes, where data residency requires it. We design for UAE cloud regions, private cloud or on-premise hosting, depending on the rules that apply to your organisation and data.

02 Will you run the infrastructure after launch?

Yes. Monitoring, patching, backups and cost reviews can be included in a support and maintenance agreement.

03 Can you add CI/CD to software another team built?

Usually. We review the codebase, the hosting and the current release routine, then introduce automated builds, tests and deployments step by step.

04 Do we really need Kubernetes?

Often not. Kubernetes suits systems with many services and changing load. Plenty of business applications run well on simpler managed container services that cost less to operate, and we recommend the simplest option that meets the need.

05 How do you keep cloud bills under control?

We size resources to measured load, use autoscaling and reserved capacity where they fit, set budgets and alerts, and review spend regularly against the original estimate.

06 How is cloud and DevOps work priced?

It is scope-based, driven by the number of environments, the workload and whether ongoing operation is included. You receive a tailored proposal after an assessment.
